Navigation concept and design of a wayfinding system for the philological institute of the Free University Berlin and their Philology Library.
The campus of the philological institute was designed by Candilis, Josic, Woods and Schiedhelm in 1963. The Philology Library was integrated in the campus and designed and realized by Norman Foster and Partners, 1997-2005.
The wayfinding system for the philological institute is developed for an area of 35,000 m². The Philology Library merges the separate smaller libraries of the departments and institutes of humanities in an area of more than 6000 m².
